ACCESSING IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION AND CRIME STATISTICS

Go the Vancouver Police Department website at www.vancouver.ca/police

Once you are on the home page you will see a column on the left hand side “Crime Prevention and Safety”.

From there you can select:

 -Individuals

 -Homes and Rentals

 -Businesses

 -Victim Services

These will provide you with simple “target hardening” techniques to aid in crime reduction in your neighbourhood.

On the middle of the Home Page is “Frequently Accessed Services” (FAS). Under “FAS” you can select:

“CRIME MAPS”

The statistical data used for these maps are gathered from our Police Record Information     System and represent actual crime reported to the Vancouver Police Department. The information collected is city-wide.

It is broken down into Break and Enter: Residential and Commercial and Automobile: Theft from Auto and Stolen Vehicles

or

“CRIME STATISTICS”

Once you select “Crime Statistics”, midway down the page is “Statistical Reports”.

From there you can select “Reports by District and City Totals” or “Reports by Neighbourhood”.

The Community of Strathcona is in District 2 of Vancouver.

Hopefully this will provide the information you are looking for.
