ONE TO ONE Literacy Society

Volunteer tutor training sessions Oct 8th or 29th 5:30-8:15 pm
Wednesday, October 29, 2014

ONE TO ONE Literacy Society provides one-to-one tutoring during school hours to elementary school students who struggle with reading. Trained volunteers work with students, identified by their teachers as needing a boost with their literacy skills. The program has been running for 25 years and last year 300 volunteer tutors provided reading assistance to over 840 students in 60 schools in Vancouver and North Vancouver.

This year, they are expanding to an additional 9 schools and are seeking new volunteer tutors in the community. Programs run in English and French, from October to June. Become a volunteer tutor and share the joy of reading with a child. This is a tremendous opportunity to truly make a difference in a child's life. As long as you love reading and love working with children, they’ll help you with the rest. They provide training and ongoing support.
