April 2023 Newsletter

Local Traffic Calming Measures

A few of the promised traffic calming measures for local streets are scheduled to be implemented this month, including the one-way southbound-only restriction on the 400 block of Campbell St. (between Hastings & Pender) and a neighbourhood-wide 30 km/h speed limit. We’re also told that closing Hawks to truck traffic (between Prior & Malkin) will happen before summer.

Raising the crosswalk at Dunlevy and Pender is scheduled for late 2023. The chicane on
Campbell (between Georgia & Keefer), the pinch point on Glen (at Georgia), and the speed bumps on Glen by Admiral Seymour School remain “under further review”.
There will also be a School Streets Pilot Program on Jackson (between Keefer & Pender) on school days between May 8 and June 2. The block in front of the Strathcona School will be closed to traffic between 8:40-9:10 AM and 2:40-3:20 PM. Additionally, on Wednesdays will be closed for “Play Street” activities between 2:40-3:50 PM. Vehicles already parked may remain during these times.
