Teapot in the Tuba/Stephen Hamm-Theremin Man
— Teapot in the Tuba:
“A veritable miniature circus orchestra with Mike WT Allen on clarinet and sound-effects and Katheryn on accordion, toy piano, drums and video. Their repertoire mingles cherished traditional, classical, jazz, original and pop repertoire and visual references materials in combinations that that fit together unexpectedly (like a teapot wedged in the bell of the tuba).” – https://katherynpetersen.com/teapot-in-the- tuba/
— Stephen Hamm – Theremin Man:
Stephen Hamm has been a pivotal member of the Vancouver Music and Arts scene for over 25 years. Heʼs played in bands like Slow, Canned Hamm and Nardwuar And The Evaporators. The Georgia Straight once called him ‘semi legendaryʼ. Stephen in recent years has shifted his focus to mastering the Theremin an early electronic instrument that one does not touch but plays by interacting with magnetic fields around two antennae. In recent years Stephen has studied under the tutelage of German Theremin virtuoso Carolina Eyck and New York based Thereminist Dorit Chrysler. Stephenʼs solo show, based around Theremin and Synthesizer is an electro musical journey into new abstract dimensions of sound!
In a world’s first, Teapot in the Tuba and Stephen Hamm will perform some tunes together!
