Strathcona, Vancouver's First Neighbourhood

Strathcona, Vancouver’s oldest and truly unique neighbourhood, has been called a slum, “home of the working man,” and absolutely charming. Starting out as a collection of shacks and cottages around the Hastings Mill, it developed into a residential area that quickly moved south and east away from the mill... SRA newsletter

Starting in May, we’re asking residents to officially join the SRA by signing up online. Why? Until now, all we’ve had are e-mails. Having the names, addresses, contact info and interests of people who actually live here will make us a far better organized and effective group. It’s free. It’s confidential. Just because you’re on our e-mail list doesn’t mean you’re signed up. So if you want to stay involved and informed about...

Are you a resident of Strathcona?   The Strathcona Residents Association (SRA) was founded in 1992 to give all residents a voice in the future of our community. But to date, we’ve never asked the people who live here to become members. Our current e-mail list only lists e-mails. Not names. Not addresses. To be a more effective group, we need to know who actually lives here and what matters to you.   So we’re inviting every resident to formally join the SRA - even if you’re...

For those of you who sent written complaints about the train, the SRA has filed a formal complaint (also attached) to the Canadian Transportation Agency, which deals primarily with noise issues.
