The SRA is participating in the City of Vancouver’s writing of Urban Design Guidelines for Strathcona’s portion of Hastings Street (known as Hastings East in the DTES LAP).

Lots of new development proposals will be coming our way, and Hastings Street will be changing dramatically before our eyes over the next few years. This is our chance to have a say about what Hastings will look like and how it will serve the current and future community in the neighbourhood.

Please join us for a fun pot-luck get together at 6:30 pm at the Strathcona Community centre which will be followed by our regular monthly meeting at 7:15. Bring something to share and children are welcome at the potluck. A good way to meet your neighbours.

It’s been an intense few weeks with the viaducts decision looming and finally going through with a big win for Strathcona - an amendment that confirms the downgrading of Prior as part of the removal plan and immediate continued safety improvements until then.

Hello everyone,

Our first SRA meeting of the fall was very interesting. We hosted planners from the City’s Flats team who told us about plans to date and how to get more information. The SRA will be sending a representative to the Flats Advisory Committee (thanks John Hawkes for volunteering!). See minutes below for all the details from that discussion.
